An origins Story
Join us as together we embark upon our maiden song writing voyage. Craft your song together as we launch our pioneer flagship project, the initial iteration of the Vote the Note songwriting process . . .
the Alpha Project.
The Alpha project will not only serve as a proof of concept, but also as a test of our software, technologies and methodologies. In future projects we look forward to improving and expand our capabilities in the following areas . . .
- Music Playback software
- Voting software & methodologies
- Partnerships with technology/software vendors
- Collaborations with artists, composers and producers
- Community centered songwriting learning experiences
- Community forums and interactive events
Alpha Project Parameters

As our initial test drive of the Vote the Note concept, the Alpha project will be limited in it’s nature, scope and voting parameters. Several of the foundational choices song writing, such as tempo, chord changes, genre and song structure, have been predetermined. In subsequent projects, many of these predetermined parameters will be democratically decided via the internet voting process.
As the VotetheNote.com platform grows, we look forward to improving and expand our capabilities, our software, technologies and methodologies so as to be able offer the best platform and songwriting experience for the community.
- 16 Bars per verse, 8 Bars per Chorus, 4 Bars per bridge/middle eight
- The song arrangement is verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus
- In the event of a voting tie, the system selects the final note randomly from the tied notes.
- I - V - vi - IV chord progression, this is by far the most popular and widely used progressions in pop music today (check out the Axis of Awesome video below), in the key of C it works out to be: C–G–Am–F
- 95 BPM Tempo. 4/4 Tempo
- The verse and chorus melodies will be repetitious and thus only have to go through the voting process once
